Aayush kadha/ Immunity Booster/How to make AYUSH KADHA at home/ आयुष मंत्रालय/ Ayurvedic Concoction
Disclaimer:
I'm not a doctor or a Medical professional. So please consume this concoction at your own risk and/or by consulting your doctor. I should not be held responsible for any side effects if you have after consumption of this drink (which is very unlikely). If pregnant, please consult your gynecologist before consumption. On Tuesday, 14th April 2020 Indian Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi ji addressed the nation and asked people to drink Kadha, an Ayurvedic drink, to help boost their immune system. The AYUSH Ministry recommended to take this special concoction once or twice a day to improve your immunity, which will help your body fight off infections. Now you must be wondering why am I putting it out on YouTube? The reason is, recently I had very bad sore throat and wasn't feeling too well. I usually make this kadha regularly, but to my surprise I saw that this has been suggested by respected prime minister too. So for the benefit of all, thought of documenting it on my channel. So here is the recipe of how to make your own immunity-boosting drink at home.Ingredients:

Kankeche Dive/ Divyachi Awas
शुभम करोति कल्याणम आरोग्यम धन संपदा शत्रू बुद्धी विनाशाय दीपज्योती नमोस्तुते
The flame of an ignited lamp (oil/ghee lamp) signifies the sacred Fire principle. Deep Poojan is done on Ashadha Amavasya to express gratitude to the Agni. All the diyas in the house are ignited and then worshiped by offering them diyas made with wheat flour and ghee (clarified butter) as prasadam.
After this pooja, all the kids in the house eat them. They are very delicious and nutricious too.
My Aaji (my grandmother) used to make them every year on the last day of Hindu month of Ashadh. So I have very fond memories with this day. We used crave for these diyas every year.
This is how they are made.
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour: 1 Cup
- Suzi/ Rava: 2 Tbsp
- Jaggery: 1/2 Cup (grated)
- Cardamom powder: 1/2 Tsp
- Nutmeg powder: A Big pinch
- Salt: A small pinch
- Ghee/ Clarified butter: 3 Tbsp for diya/ 6-7 Tbsp for lighting the diyas
- Hot Water: 1 Cup
Method:
- Take wheat flour in a bowl and add suzi, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, salt and ghee in it.
- Mix it well till ghee is well incorporated in the flour (refer the video)
- Now in another bowl take grated jaggery and hot water to it. Stir well till it's dissolved in the water.
- Now add this water in the wheat mixture very carefully.
- Knead a soft dough bowl and put a lid on it. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Meanwhile take a steamer and grease it with ghee. Alternatively, you can spread a cotton cloth on the steamer basket or steamer plate.
- Add 1.5 cups of water in the steamer pot. Put it on stove top and let it come to a rolling boil.
- Now check the dough. Knead once again for couple of minutes and start making the diyas. Please refer to the video for exact procedure.
- Once they are made then steam them for 12-15 minutes.
- After they are done, take them on a plate. Put thread in it and light the diyas.
- Perform a small pooja. (refer the video)
- once the diyas are burnt completely, give it to kids to eat. Very tasty and nutritious.

Sugarcane juice without Sugarcane in Marathi/ऊसाचा रस उस न घालता मराठी रेसिपी/ठंडा गन्ने का ज्यूस
We live in the US on East coast and finding nice, fresh sugarcane is very difficult. So thought of this recipe. The beauty of this recipe is you can add the ingredients according to your taste buds 😉 This way it has worked for our family. Hope you all like it too. Today I tried to make a video in my mother tongue, Marathi which is spoken in the state of Maharashtra in India. Do comment if you like it in Marathi 🙂 Ingredients: 1.Jaggery: ¾ cup to 1 cup 2. Mint leaves: 8-10 3. Black salt: 1 Tsp 4. Lemon juice: 4 Tsp 5. Ginger: 1 inch 6. Water: 1 cup 7. Ice cubes: 8-10 Method: 1. Take jaggery and cut it in small pieces. Add one cup of water to it. 2. Keep it aside for 15 minutes so the jaggery will dissolve in the water. 3. Take a mixie pot and add dissolved jaggery water, and rest of the ingredients (except ice cubes). Pulse it. 4. Add ice cubes and pulse it again. 5. Sugarcane juice is ready to serve. Optional garnishing: 1. Dip the glass rim in lemon juice and then dip it in rimming salt or margarita salt. 2. Pour the juice in this glass and garnish it with mint leaves. Serve it chilled. Inspired by 'simple tips home and kitchen' and a few other YT recipes. Thanks to all 🙂
